IL RISE Act Allows Undocumented & Transgender College Students to Access MAP Grants and Other State Aid

Effective January 1, 2020, undocumented students in Illinois can now access IL MAP grants and other aid/scholarships for college. The RISE Act was sponsored by Representative Lisa Hernandez, Senator Omar Aquino, the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, and signed into law by Governor J.B.
